Before you go, know how much tip to give.
Before anything else…
- In many countries, gratuities are included automatically in the bill for visitors from outside the country.
- If you have a specific question about tipping nightclub doormen, please post it on our community discussion boards for a quick response from LasVegasNightclubs.com readers. Our nightlife advertisers have told us that we are not legally permitted to discuss doorman tipping in this guide.

ADVICE FOR VEGAS:
- Valet Parking – In Las Vegas, valet parking is offered for free. It’s also a convenient service. Do not give your valet anything below $3 or $5. You can tip $20 to the person who picks up your vehicle if you’re feeling generous. You will be marked as a VIP on your ticket and will receive your vehicle much faster.
- Your waiter/waitress –If service were good, I would double the tax amount (7.5%) and add some more. Your gratuity may already be included if you’re part of a big group (sometimes, 18% is automatically included). In the restaurant industry, this is known as “Auto-Grat”.
- The VIP host –There is a wide variety of Vip hosts at Night Club Experts. Some will get you free limousines or tickets to a hard-to-get nightclub. Others will introduce you to your cocktail server. The amount you give your VIP host depends on their service and the type of host they are. You should budget $75 at the lower end and $1,000 or more at the higher end. If you have a nightclub host who has helped you with your reservation, give them your tip as soon as they hand you over to the cocktail waitress.
- You, Bartender: Drinks can be expensive, but neither are you. You should tip your bartender 15-20% of the total tab at the end of the night, which is about $2 per drink. You might save money as bartenders often give free drinks or shots to good tippers. They will serve you faster next time!
- Your Casino cocktail waitress –Getting complimentary cocktails in a Casino? Your waitress will appreciate a $1-$5 tip (or more if you’re winning). She will refill your drink more often if you give more. You want to pay for your drink? You can give $1-$3 per drink.
- Your limousine driver – The general tipping rule for your chauffeur is 20% of the total cost. For a quick ride of less than an hour, $40 will be more than enough. Start at $40 and gradually increase if they plan to take you in for the evening.
- Your Skydive instructor –If there is a chance for you to go to Boulder City and you are not afraid of death, then you should pay $160 to experience the thrill of your life. You will likely go tandem (with your instructor attached) if you’re skydiving for the very first time. Sky Dive instructors are usually tipped about 20 percent of their total weight, as they have to do more work the heavier you get.
- Tip Your Cleaning Lady –Most of us forget to tip our cleaning ladies. You never see her, right? When you check out, if you feel generous and want to be kind, you can leave some money on your maid’s dresser. It is usually fair to charge $5 per night you stay in the room. You might be more “generous” if you partied hard, puked in the entire room, threw furniture, or left condoms on the floor.
Your Hair Stylist/Masseuse – We offer a wide range of services to pamper you while you’re on vacation. You would be foolish not to enjoy some of these relaxing experiences. If you’re getting a hairstyle, make-up, or a massage, give your stylist a 20% tip when you finish.
